Current fees and charges

As part of the annual budget setting process, review of Loddon Shire Council’s fees and charges is undertaken in conjunction with responsible managers from across Council, and by reference to legislation. The fees and charges are then presented to Council for authorisation.  Click here to see the Current fees and charges or view the attachment at the bottom of this page.

It is important to note that some fees and charges are set within the relevant legislation and cannot be altered by Council. In many instances, the legislation details the number of fee units or penalty units that are to be paid.

The value of a fee unit and penalty unit is adjusted annually by the State Government. The current value of a fee unit and a penalty unit can be found under Legislative Information on the Victorian Legislation and Parliamentary Documents web site.

All levies in respect of fees and charges are available on the Council website once the annual budget has been approved.

Fee waiver or reductions

Council regularly receives requests from community groups to provide funding support in the form of fee waivers or reductions for a large range of programs, projects, events or initiatives. Council has a policy in place that provides guidance for these types of requests.

The policy applies to any not for profit organisation, incorporated association or unincorporated community group which provides a community benefit to the Shire and wishes to apply to have a fee and/or charge waived or reduced. It is important to note that this policy does not apply to Council rates and rebates. Please see Council’s relevant rating policies for guidelines concerning rates and relief for ratepayers.
