Wedderburn Self Walking Tour

A great way to discover more about Wedderburn is to take the self-guided walking tour of the points of interest in the town.

The Loddon Visitor Information Centre has released a booklet which allows visitors to explore and learn about the historic points of interest in the town at their own pace. It offers a fascinating insight into many interesting landmarks which may be explored with the flexibility and freedom to suit individual interests.

The tour begins at the Wedderburn Community Centre which was originally the State School No 794 and has been used by the community after the school relocated in 2001. Many of the buildings in Wedderburn were built in the 1860s and their stories are intertwined with the search for gold and the life of the pioneers.

As the visitor follows the directions in the booklet, an intriguing picture will begin to emerge about the people who built early buildings, worshipped in the churches and established the first businesses in the town.

The self-walking tour booklet also includes a map and has contact information for the Loddon Valley social media.

Loddon Shire Tourism and Marketing Officer, Robyn Vella said “this self-walking tour is an ideal way for anyone to discover more about the early history of Wedderburn. Being able to follow the easy walking notes at your own pace suits all types of people and would even offer something new and interesting for locals.”
