Touring the region

Visitor Information Centre staff and volunteers have been treated to a tour of the region, to ensure they are armed with helpful guidance for tourists.

A recent familiarisation tour started at the Inglewood Motel and worked its way through Wedderburn, Bridgewater, Newbridge and Laanecoorie.

Loddon staff and volunteers were also treated to a guided tour of the newly built Bridgewater Public Caravan Park.

Loddon Shire Council tourism manager Robyn Vella said the tour included discussions with business owners and a site inspection of the Bridgewater on Loddon swimming hole and river bank.

“It is important that staff and volunteers visit venues across the Shire and meet operators who are in the tourism businesses,” she said.

“Staff and volunteers can share their knowledge of the municipality when speaking to visitors who walk in or telephone the Loddon Visitor Information Centre.”

The local knowledge passed on to tourists will increase visitor experiences and extend bed nights.
