Park to open to holidaymakers

The new Bridgewater Public Caravan Park will be open for the first time on Friday 4 April, with free camping on offer.
Loddon Shire Councillors met earlier this week to consider progress on the site and the temporary opening of the new park to the public for a three-week period, ending on Sunday afternoon, 27 April.
That means it will be available to campers and visitors right through the school holidays and across the Easter break and Anzac Day weekend.
The manager’s residence will be in place and will serve as a temporary camp office. The pool is still unfinished and will be fenced off, but the playground and jumping pillow are in place and will be ready for use during April.
All sites will have been grassed, but access to areas around the residence and office sites, planned camp kitchen, cabin and new amenities block will all be restricted.
Over the past week, the irrigation system has been finalised and the park given another clean-up in preparation for planting grass.
That work was scheduled to start this week.
Bookings open on Monday 17 March and can be made by phoning the Loddon Visitor Information Centre on 5494 1257.
