Park development pushes on

Work continues at the Bridgewater Caravan Park site, despite the disappointing setback of Council’s well-publicised problem with a major contractor there.

However, other work outside the scope of that contract has continued, including the demolition of the former tennis pavilion and the installation of a jumping pillow and play equipment

Work on the shell of the swimming pool is almost complete, with tiling finished, and footings and slabs have been poured for all three sheds.

The erection of two of those sheds is almost complete, but both still need personal access doors.

Slabs have been poured for all three barbecue shelters and the frames are up.

Work will cease during the Christmas/New Year period, but should begin again before mid-January.

Chief Executive Officer John McLinden said Council was pressing ahead with its plans.

“We are fully committed to completing this park, but Council is not able to confirm an opening date at this point,” Mr McLinden said.
