New home taking shape

Work is well under way on a new manager’s residence for the Council-owned Wedderburn Caravan Park, with the relevant permits issued and a delivery date in mind.
Building contractor New Trend Transportable Homes, of Shepparton, is constructing the nine-square, two-bedroom timber home and expects to have it ready to install by May.
Project manager Adrian Lowrey said this week Council had set aside $120,000 for the work and the task would be accomplished within budget.
“The building permit for the home was issued on 20 January and New Trend started work on the project soon after that,” Mr Lowrey said.
“The house is being built in Shepparton and will be brought to Wedderburn to be assembled next to the current residence.
“We would expect the new residence will be in place at the park by May.
“A separate contract was awarded to Hickman’s Pty Ltd, of Bendigo, to remove trees along the entrance to the caravan park and this was done on 22 January.”
