State-wide COVID-19 lockdown extended

As announced by the Premier this morning, the current state-wide lockdown has been extended to 11.59pm Tuesday 27 July.

Due to the lockdown, Council offices remain closed to the public until further notice. You can still call Council on (03) 5494 1200 or email loddon@loddon.vic.gov.au for assistance.

A reminder that the lockdown means we must stay at home other than for one of the five reasons:

  • shopping for necessary goods and services
  • care and caregiving, including medical care or to get a COVID-19 test
  • exercise
  • authorised work and permitted study
  • to get a COVID-19 vaccination

Victorians may also leave home to visit their intimate partner, their single social bubble buddy, or in an emergency – including those at risk of family violence.

Exercise and shopping is limited to five kilometres from your home. If there are no shops in your five-kilometre radius, you can travel to the ones closest to you. Shopping is limited to one person per day, per household. The five-kilometre limit does not apply to care and health care.

Face masks must be worn indoors and outdoors whenever you leave your home.

For full details regarding current restrictions, please visit the COVIDSafe Settings webpage.

Excellent Farming workshop postponed to 26 July

Due to the lockdown, the Excellent Farming workshop, due to be held in Wedderburn on 19 July, will now be held online this Monday 26 July at 1.30pm.

This session is for growers and agronomists wishing to make informed decisions based on climate information and their own data amid uncertainty.

Titled Excellent Farming Master Class, the workshop will be presented by Dr Kate Burke. Dr Burke uses evidence, experience and humour to shine a light on what matters for sustainable, profitable farming, to make the most of opportunities available and manage risk along the way.

This master class will focus on understanding climate moods, using farm knowledge and numbers to map trends and help decision making, and a simple process for seasonal risk management and managing uncertainty. The workshop will also focus on the 2021 seasonal outlook and putting the process into practice.

The workshop will be held via Zoom. Register in advance for this workshop here.

You will then be sent an automatic email with the link to the event. If you are asked for a password or passcode it is: Grains

If you have any issues registering please call Martin Hamilton at Agriculture Victoria on 0429 946 149 or email martin.hamilton@agriculture.vic.gov.au
