Lest we forget

This Anzac Day Loddon Shire, together with the nation, will remember those who have lost their lives in military and peacekeeping operations.

A number of communities across the Loddon Shire will hold local Anzac Day ceremonies, including Boort, Bridgewater, Calivil, Inglewood, Pyramid Hill, Mologa, Tarnagulla and Wedderburn.

Not only do these ceremonies honour those who have served our country, but they remember the spirit of Anzac, including its qualities of courage, mateship and sacrifice. These qualities continue to be relevant to our sense of national identity today.

New electronic scoreboard for Pyramid Hill

It is an honour to be invited for the official opening this Saturday of the new electronic scoreboard for the Pyramid Hill Football Netball Club.

The scoreboard will not only support the Pyramid Hill Football Netball Club, its members and volunteers, but also local emergency services, as well as community and family events throughout the year.

On behalf of Loddon Shire Council, I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Pyramid Hill Football Netball Club and the Pyramid Hill community for their incredible fundraising efforts towards the new scoreboard, as well as local businesses who helped in its construction, including through in-kind support. Council was also pleased to provide support towards the funding of the new scoreboard through its 2020 Community Grants Program.

Whether for sport, community events or emergency services information, the electronic scoreboard is a fantastic asset for Pyramid Hill and the community.

Easter sporting events congratulations

A big congratulations to everyone involved in organising the Boort Lawn Tennis Club Easter Tournament and Wedderburn Bowls Annual Easter Tournament held over the Easter weekend.

From what I hear, it was a fantastic weekend, which saw many participants at both events as well as spectators, both locally and from out of town.
