Inglewood to link with Mary Quant exhibition

From 20 March, the Bendigo Art Gallery will present Mary Quant: Fashion Revolutionary, focusing on iconic British fashion designer Dame Mary Quant. Bendigo is the exclusive Australian venue for this exhibition from London’s Victoria and Albert Museum.

As part of Bendigo Regional Tourism, Inglewood businesses will link in with this exhibition – including displays in vintage antique and collectable shops and other initiatives. This will connect Inglewood with the Mary Quant exhibition for those visitors travelling to and from the exhibition, and encouraging them to stop in the town. There will also be a focus month of Mary Quant displays in April.

If you are an Inglewood business or organisation that would like to be part of this initiative, please contact the Loddon Visitor Information Centre on 5494 1257 or email loddonvisitorinformation@loddon.vic.gov.au

The Mary Quant exhibition runs from 20 March until 11 July 2021. For more information visit the Bendigo Art Gallery website.

Inglewood MASH meeting

The MASH (More Australian Solar Homes) solar bulk-buy program will hold an information meeting next week in Inglewood for interested homeowners.

The Inglewood Solar and Battery Information Meeting will take place on Wednesday 10 March from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Inglewood Town Hall Hub.

To register your place, call 1300 466 274 or visit the MASH website

The MASH solar bulk-buy program is part of Council’s ongoing partnership with the Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance. The program makes it easier and more affordable for Loddon Shire households and businesses to install a solar power system in order to cut their electricity bills and CO² emissions.

Tarnagulla microgrid information session

If you are a resident or business interested in the future of energy in Tarnagulla you’re encouraged to come along and hear about an exciting project looking at microgrid and other opportunities for Tarnagulla.

A free public information session will be held at the Tarnagulla Public Hall on Wednesday 3 March from 10am to 12pm.

To attend, please register at www.cvga.org.au/microgrid

The Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance (CVGA) is partnering with the Centre for New Energy Technologies (C4NET), Powercor, Ovida and Loddon and Buloke Shire Councils on the Donald and Tarnagulla Microgrid Project.

The project, which will run for around three years, is looking to engage the Donald and Tarnagulla communities to listen and understand their needs and desires around their future electricity supply.

According to the CVGA, communities are becoming increasingly aware of alternative energy supplies to enhance their existing supply or explore alternative supply options, such as microgrids. Several community groups across the Loddon-Mallee area have sought to investigate whether microgrids are a better energy solution for their electricity needs.

Congratulations Ivan

I’d like to congratulate Ivan Streader who was recently honoured by the Boort Memorial Hall community asset committee for his dedicated contributions as a long-term member.

Boort Memorial Hall community asset committee President Ian Potter presented Ivan with a framed certificate and book, and gave a speech in recognition of all the work Ivan has contributed to the hall.

The Boort Memorial Hall committee was formed in 1990. Ivan was involved with this committee after previously maintaining the hall before the committee’s official formation.

Ivan’s building construction background was a huge benefit to the Boort Memorial Hall as well as many other buildings around town. He has always been a champion for the hall, making sure it was in good condition and ready for use – demonstrating Ivan’s dedication to his local community.

The local historical society is currently interviewing Ivan about the work he has completed in the Boort area with the local halls.
