Loddon Shire Broadband and mobile connectivity survey
Published on 17 May 2021
Do you experience internet or mobile phone network connectivity problems in Loddon Shire?
Loddon Shire Council, as part of the 100G City/Region Project led by the City of Greater Bendigo, is undertaking a survey of Loddon businesses and residents to assess fixed broadband internet speeds and mobile phone network coverage.
Council has been advocating for improved internet and mobile phone access for its communities for some time, and recent changes to the demands on technology due to COVID-19 has made this issue even more important to Loddon businesses and residents.
The 100G City/Region Project is exploring all market barriers to regional digital economies, while also considering the need to resolve broadband technology gaps within the region.
In order to gain a better understanding of internet speeds and mobile network coverage, availability and reliability across Loddon Shire, Council is hoping to survey as many members of the community, both business and residential, as possible. This will help to identify where to focus efforts in advocating for better connectivity, particularly when seeking government funding for communications service improvements.
More detailed information about specific connectivity problems in the Shire will support a better informed case for Council’s advocacy efforts.
