Registrations are now open for the Loddon Healthy Minds Network 2020 Suicide Prevention Forum (SPF20) on Thursday 22 October.
The forum, which will be held online from 9am to 3.30pm, will focus on suicide prevention strategies that work in rural areas.
Loddon Shire Mayor Cheryl McKinnon said a range of experts and speakers will present at the conference to give insights into solutions and strategies to address rural mental health.
“This includes keynote speaker Ben Brooksby, who will discuss his journey that culminated in the establishment of the mental health awareness initiative the ‘Naked Farmer’,” Cr McKinnon said.
“A range of guest presenters will also speak at the forum, providing strategies that practitioners and community members alike will be able to put to immediate use in service and/or their community.”
Guest presenters will be from a range of organisations, including Carer Support Services, Headspace, Northern District Community Health, The Royal Flying Doctors Mental Health Service and Mood Mission.
The conference will also have speakers from SPAN Central Victoria, Poche Centre for Indigenous Health, Murray Primary Health Network, HALT and many more.
The Victorian Commissioner for Gender and Sexuality Ro Allen will also present at the forum.
