Gates open at new park
Published on 03 April 2014
Fancy a free holiday in a brand-new caravan and camping park?
It’s yours for the asking, but be quick – sites at the rebuilt Bridgewater Caravan Park are filling and no more than 50 will be made available over the coming month.
Loddon Shire will open the park to campers and visitors for the first time next Friday (4 April) and keep it open right through the school holidays and across the Easter break and Anzac Day weekend.
On 27 April, it will be closed again to allow final construction works to take place.
Turf has now been planted on all powered sites, marking the end of all planned irrigation work.
The embankment between the higher and lower levels of the park has been mulched and this provides some definition between the camping area and public foreshore.
The three barbecues are all but complete, while the manager’s residence has been delivered and been reassembled on-site.
This building is essentially finished, but services such as water, sewerage, drainage and electricity have yet to be connected – this work will occur over the next two to three weeks.
Pool fencing is due to start next week and a park cabin has been ordered, though this will not arrive until early August.
In the meantime, quotes for the re-fencing of the eastern boundary are currently being sought.
Bookings for sites at the park are essential. To reserve your place before next Thursday, phone the Loddon Visitor Information Centre on 5494 3489.
After that day, please phone the park manager on 5437 3086.
The manager’s residence arrives on-site at the Bridgewater Caravan Park and is lowered into place.
