Economic Development and Tourism Strategy
Loddon Shire Council is seeking to enhance the Shire’s sustainability and liveability through the development of a new Economic Development and Tourism Strategy.
The draft strategy, which has been placed on public exhibition for comment, gives Council direction in the delivery of infrastructure, housing and jobs to support and drive potential population growth in the Shire. It also aims to attract new investment as well as maximise the economic impact from visitors through increased business and tourism strategies.
Loddon Shire businesses, other community organisations and stakeholders contributed to the development of this strategy through personal consultations, meetings and forums. This collaboration will help position Loddon towns to maximise the economic impact from visitors, while also meeting the needs of residents.
Once implemented, the strategy will support Loddon communities in their efforts to advance economic development and tourism in their areas and take advantage of broader opportunities.
The strategy has been developed as a five-year plan, which reflects the lead time required to steer many economic and tourism enterprises from creation to full implementation.
The draft Economic Development and Tourism Strategy will be available for view until 30 October and can be accessed on the Council’s website at http://www.loddon.vic.gov.au/Our-documents/Documents-for-public-comment or viewed at the Wedderburn or Serpentine offices.
