Draft Community Local Law out for comment
Published on 11 July 2022
Council is inviting community members to provide feedback regarding the draft Community Local Law 2022, which is out for comment until 5pm Wednesday 31 August 2022.
The draft Community Local Law covers a range of laws, including Council land, streets and roads, private property, animals and pets, waste and recycling, permits and fees, and enforcement.
Loddon Shire Council Mayor Dan Straub encouraged community members to view the draft Community Local Law and provide feedback.
“The proposed Community Local Law merges four local laws into one as well as removes unnecessary duplications, while ensuring it meets community needs,” Cr Straub said.
“The resulting draft local law is a result of the need to simplify, strengthen and consolidate these local laws, and is intended as a more user-friendly document.
“I encourage residents to take the chance to have a read of the draft Community Local Law and provide their feedback,” he added.
Community members can view and comment on the draft Community Local Law via Council’s website.
Further information, including a response to some frequently asked questions, a summary table of the changes and a community impact statement is also available from the website.
Additionally, a copy of the draft local law is available for inspection (or can be printed on request) at the Council offices, 41 High Street, Wedderburn during business hours.
A copy can also be posted to community members by calling Council’s Customer Service on (03) 5494 1200.
Cr Straub also encouraged community members who had questions about the proposed local law to attend a community drop-in session.
“If you would like to know more about the draft Community Local Law, have questions, or want to provide feedback in person, please don’t hesitate to get along to one of the community drop-in sessions that will be held across the Shire,” Cr Straub said.
The community drop-in sessions will be held:
