Declaration of boating activity exemption for Australian Masters

I, Darren Schultz, Building & Contracts Officer, of Loddon Shire Council, waterway manager for the Loddon River (at Bridgewater between Flour Mill Weir and Sweeney’s Lane), declare under section 203(3) of the Marine Safety Act 2010 (Vic) that the Bridgewater Ski Club Australian Masters 2014 on 25-27 January 2014, is exempt from:

1. The requirements of clauses 62.2 (5 knot speed restriction zone) and 62.7 (operating rules for exclusive use & special purpose area) of Schedule 62 of the Notice under section 15(2) of the Marine Act 1988.

2. The requirements of Regulations 103 and 104(2) of the Marine Safety Regulations 2012, in respect to person being towed by a vessel to wear a PFD and master of recreational vessel must not tow a person unless the person is wearing a PFD.  This exemption applies for Trick Events only.

This declaration applies to registered participants of the Bridgewater Ski Club Australian Masters 2014 from 7.30am 25 January 2014 to 8pm 27 January 2014 on the waters of the Loddon River in the gazette Exclusive Use and Special Purpose Area, provided the stated safety controls and undertakings detailed in the Event Application, Event Safety Plan and International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation Tournament Water Ski Rules are adhered to.
