Council launches Oursay forum

Published on 08 March 2017

Loddon Shire Council has launched an online forum called Oursay to coincide with the development of the 2017-2021 Council Plan.

Mayor Neil Beattie said the new electronic platform would be used to gather great ideas and feedback from Loddon Shire residents.

“The Oursay online forum was launched the same day we brought many of Loddon’s key community and business leaders together at a workshop focusing on Council’s strategic direction for the next four year period,” Cr Beattie said.

“Almost 100 people shared some great ideas at the workshop held at Bendigo’s historic Fortuna Villa on Monday, but this online platform provides an opportunity for thousands of people to contribute their great ideas.”

Cr Beattie said while Oursay was being used for the very first time to influence the direction of the 2017-2021 Council Plan, it was a software tool which would be used for other forums and surveys such as the Municipal Early Years Plan and the Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plan.

“Monday’s workshop was a great success, there was a productive energy within the room which lead to fantastic ideas being generated.

“It will be exciting to build on the work we have begun through feedback received via Oursay.

“The Oursay forum asks for residents to share their great ideas.

“People then have the opportunity to vote on the great ideas put forward.

“Over the next four weeks we will collate all the ideas which will assist in informing Council’s strategic plan for the next four years”.
