Christmas festival begins

The community will begin to show its festive side, with the Wedderburn Community Christmas Festival fast approaching.
The Wedderburn Patchwork Group is keeping tradition alive, hosting the event’s 24th festival at the end of the month.
The event, which was started by the Wedderburn Craft Group in 1990, is a fantastic festival for the whole family.
Some residents are already preparing their decorated Christmas tree and registrations for the competitions are still open.
The festival has more than 30 craft and art categories open to individuals and groups, with not all categories featuring a Christmas theme.
Event organisers are welcoming stallholders, with plenty of undercover space still available.
The festival will feature the Inglewood district Goldfields Choir, which will perform on the Friday night.
Organisers have always ensured the event helps a good cause, raising funds for a nominated charity each year.
This year it is hoped the event will raise more than $1000 for Street Swags, an organisation which will purchase swags for the homeless in Bendigo. Each swag costs $300.
To register as a stallholder or enter one of the competitions contact Michelle on 0427 943 596.
Competition entries must be received between 3pm and 6pm on Wednesday, 26 November.
The event will run on Friday, 28 November between 10am and 7.30pm and Saturday, 29 November between 10am and 1pm.
