Chief Executive Officer resigns

Published on 03 February 2016

Loddon’s Chief Executive Officer, Mr John McLinden has resigned his position.  John is leaving Loddon Shire to take up the position of Chief Executive Officer at Swan Hill Rural City Council.

John has served this municipality and its community for the last 23 years. He was first appointed to the position of Shire Engineer to the Shire of East Loddon in March 1993 and then went on to be the Director of Operations for 11 years, and has served as CEO for the last 10 years at Loddon Shire.

John leaves behind a council and a community that is in really good shape. John has helped this Council establish a clear vision for the future, and under his leadership we have put in place a number of effective strategies to deliver our vision. In tendering his resignation, John has expressed his appreciation for the help and assistance provided to him by the Council and the Loddon community and has paid special tribute to the countless community members who contribute so much to life in Loddon.

John, along with his wife Therese, will be leaving Serpentine and will take up residence in Swan Hill.

John’s resignation will be effective from the 18 March.

On behalf of my Council, the staff and the Loddon community, I express my appreciation for John's service and I wish him and his family all the very best of luck for the future.

Cr Neil Beattie
Mayor, Loddon Shire
