Loddon Shire Council has appointed Belgravia Leisure to manage its swimming pools.

The contract to manage the Shire’s aquatic facilities was awarded by Council to the company at its September meeting.

Acting Chief Executive Officer Jude Holt said Council was looking forward to having Belgravia Leisure on board.

“Belgravia Leisure has a long history working with communities and connecting them to leisure opportunities,” Ms Holt said.

“We look forward to Belgravia Leisure bringing their experience, capability and collaborative approach in working with Council and the community to meet residents’ health and wellbeing needs.

“Additionally, the appointment of Belgravia Leisure also brings with it economic opportunities for our region, including local employment and engagement of local suppliers.”

Belgravia Leisure Chief Executive Officer Nick Cox said the company was excited to be appointed as managers of Loddon Shire’s seasonal pools.

“We are an experienced leisure management company that is passionate about connecting communities to leisure,” Mr Cox said.

“We believe that all members of the Loddon Shire community should have equal access to aquatic facilities regardless of financial or physical ability, cultural background, or stage of life.

“We are excited to bring our innovative programs such as GOSwim to the Loddon Shire community, providing tailored guidance and support for members to meet their health and fitness goals.

“We look forward to working closely with Loddon Shire Council in supporting the regional economy through hiring local staff, engaging local suppliers, and helping people connect to leisure,” he added.

There are five swimming pools within Loddon Shire, located at Boort, Inglewood, Mitiamo, Pyramid Hill and Wedderburn.

Council’s swimming pools open annually on the third Saturday in November and close on the Monday of the Labour Day weekend in March.
