The sessions will be highly informative, practical and relevant, and those impacted by dementia are encouraged to come along and participate. The sessions will include discussion about what is dementia, facts about dementia, signs and symptoms of dementia, how dementia is diagnosed and more.

Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program
Applications for the 2018 Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program (LMCLP) are now open.
The nine-month LMCLP aims to develop community leaders for a vibrant and sustainable community across central and north-west Victoria. It does this by building on the skills, knowledge, ability and understanding of participants, so they can make a positive difference in their community.
The program, which started in 1998, has seen more than 420 participants from a range of backgrounds make a significant difference in their local communities and the wider region.
Around 25 participants are accepted into the program, all of whom reflect the diversity of the community living and working in our region, with equal representation of primary industries, business, government and community. Participants may already be a community leader looking for ways to work more effectively or may want to take on a community position.

Seniors Festival starts soon
Kicking off on Wednesday 27 September, this year’s Loddon Seniors Festival is a fantastic opportunity for our older citizens to get out and about with a range of activities planned until October 5.
One of the feature events for this year’s festival will be the free Gala Day on Wednesday 4 October at the Boort Memorial Hall. The day will not only include the official launch of the Loddon Seniors Festival, but a performance by Australian country music legend James Blundell.
Other activities include two fantastic mystery trips and a visit to Sheep Hills to see the largest silo mural as part of the silo art trail.
With the festival running in conjunction with the Naturally Loddon Spring Festival there are plenty of activities to enjoy and complement the Loddon Seniors Festival.
To find out more, call Council on 5437 7999. Copies of the Loddon Seniors Festival guide are available from Council’s Wedderburn and Serpentine offices, local resource centres, supermarkets, post offices, Inglewood and Districts Health Service and Boort District Health.
