New lessees for Wedderburn and Bridgewater caravan parks
It is with great pleasure that I welcome Kristy and Warrick Hourigan as the new lessees of the Wedderburn Pioneer and Bridgewater Public caravan parks. They have taken over the reins and are ready to embark on this new journey, bringing their expertise, passion and commitment to providing an exceptional experience for all those who visit our parks.
Kristy and Warrick are no strangers to the caravan park industry, and I look forward to exciting improvements and enhancements that are planned for the parks.
I wish Kristy and Warrick all the best on their new venture as they take over from 1 July 2023. On behalf of Council, I’d like to acknowledge and thank both of the parks’ previous operators as they have helped ensure that the Bridgewater and Wedderburn caravan parks thrived, and became popular sites for holiday makers and visitors to our region.

Roadside Weeds and Pests Funding
I received correspondence from The Hon. Melissa Horne MP announcing that the Victorian Government has granted $2.86 million for the Roadside Weeds and Pests Program in this year’s financial budget. An allocation of $85,000 has been assigned to Loddon Shire Council (LSC).
Through the Roadside Weeds and Pests Program, LSC will be able to effectively plan and execute control activities aimed at managing weeds and pests along roadsides. The program continues to be administered by Local Government Victoria, with the regulatory framework the responsibility of Agriculture Victoria.

Recognising our Community Care workers
I want to take this opportunity to thank all dedicated staff members who have been part of our community care services. Your unwavering commitment and exceptional care for our community have been nothing short of remarkable.
The community care service has been highly regarded by Loddon community, continually scoring as the highest or highly rated service in the annual satisfaction survey. We have a number of staff who have been with the service for 20-plus and 30-plus years, an incredible effort. For many Council has also been a great starting point to their career, with staff starting with Loddon in the community care team and subsequently moving on to other roles, both in and outside of Loddon Shire.
Since the cessation of aged care services, you have all tirelessly worked to ensure the well-being and comfort of those in need. Countless residents have benefited from all of your compassion, allowing them to continue living in the comfort of their homes.
Once again, thank you for your services and exceptional care and your valuable dedication.
