Learner Driver Mentor Program

Buloke and Loddon L2P Learner Driver Mentor Program is a state wide initiative funded by the State Government and managed by VIC roads. This program provides young people the opportunity to complete their 120 hours of driving experience that they may otherwise be unable to achieve.

I have taken on a mentor’s role for this program and committed to providing guidance, support and knowledge to those learning to drive.

L2P is free for eligible young people:

            • Be between 16 and 20 years of age

            • Hold a current learner's permit, and

            • Not have access to a vehicle, a supervising driver or both

Becoming a volunteering mentor in the L2P program, you need to:

            • Be over 21 years of age

            • Hold a current full Victorian drivers licence, and

            • Meet requirements of the L2P program

            • Allocated minimum 2 hours per fortnight

If you or someone you know could benefit from this program or interested in becoming a mentor, I encourage you to reach out and find out more information.

Contact North Central LLEN on 03 5491 1144 or email l2p@ncllen.org.au.

Wedderburn CFA volunteers

CFA volunteers and their families were invited to Soldiers Memorial Park on Sunday 19 March, to listen to former AFL premiership player Tom Boyd discuss mental health.

Tom shared his journey from his dream AFL career to fighting the anxiety and mental health battles that led to early retirement.

Community members were given valuable insights to manage their mental health and cope with the challenges they may face in their line of duty.

As a community, we owe a great deal of gratitude to our CFA volunteers who selflessly serve to protect our homes and businesses.

Thank you to everyone who came down and enjoyed the presentation.

Dingee shines on local breakfast radio show

Last Wednesday, I had the opportunity to attend ABC Central VIC live radio breakfast show broadcasted from the Dingee Railway Hotel. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with members of our community and discuss local issues with host Fiona Parker.

As part of ABC's Love Where You Live campaign, regional radio stations across Australia joined forces to set an (unofficial) world record for the 'most live radio broadcasts in 24 hours'.

We heard from the rival football/netball clubs Mitiamo and Calivil, the Manager of the Dingee Hotel, as well as music performances from 13yo Alex and Ava from East Loddon P-12 College.

Thank you to Fiona and the ABC Central VIC team for sharing our town’s story with a wider audience.
