McIntyre Wildlife Shelter provides a wildlife rescue service for injured, ill, orphaned and displaced native animals, which operates under permit issued by DEECA. During busy times, drop offs to the Shelter may be necessary. The Shelter also takes in captive bred birds and reptiles that need rehoming and can assist with temporary care of pet birds and reptiles when owners are in hospital or on vacation. September 23 - For euthanasia of kangaroos and wallabies hit by vehicles, please contact local police. The Shelter can no longer deal with the large number of euthanasias requested.
