Strengthening volunteering in your community

Volunteers play a vital role in supporting our services and connecting our communities. Without volunteers many services and activities just wouldn’t happen. A well-managed and maintained volunteer program is vital to support and strengthen volunteering across your community.

The ‘Strengthening Volunteering in your Community’ workshop will focus on best practice in volunteer management, linking to the new National Standards for Volunteer Involvement and highlight the essential processes in recruitment and selection of volunteers including the importance of recruiting the right volunteer for the right role, having a volunteer role description/ task list, insurance for volunteers, supporting, supervising and promoting volunteering.

This hands-on session will explore promotional opportunities in your community, review current recruitment methods and allow time to answer questions in response to issues and concerns you and your organisation have in managing and support volunteers.
