Anzac Weekend Orienteering – Three Days of Epic Racing!
Get ready for an unforgettable Anzac Weekend with three thrilling days of top-tier orienteering action:
-
Friday 25 April – Victorian Short Distance Championships, Andersons Diggings, Dunolly
-
Saturday 26 April – Victorian Middle Distance Championships, Wehla Hill (near Kooyoora)
-
Sunday 27 April – Victorian Long Distance Championships, Mt Korong
These events feature maps every bit as high-quality as those used at Easter, and the courses have been expertly designed by Victorian orienteering legends: Jim Russell, Aston Key, and Neil Barr. This is orienteering at its finest—expect nothing less than excitement from start to finish!
Start strong with the Vic Shorts—two sprint-style races on fast, open gravel pit terrain, capped off with a thrilling chasing start in the afternoon.
Next, tackle the Vic Middle, showcasing the striking granite terrain of Kooyoora but with lighter vegetation—pure technical joy.
Then, wrap up with the Vic Long on a newly expanded section of the spectacular Korong Spur. Once a hidden gem, this area is now ready to shine on the big stage.
Fuel up between races with delicious catering from My Cake Kitchen – offering a mouthwatering selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads, cakes, and great coffee.
Don’t miss out—this is the orienteering ANZAC weekend of the year!
